Okay, I need to be beaten with a stick! I’m WAY overdue on announcing the winner for the Bitter Harvest Kindle Fire giveaway (say that five times fast). Of course, we were sort of right in the middle of moving from Maryland to Florida, selling and buying houses, etc., etc. Yes, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it, but today we’re going to announce the good news.
I received nearly a hundred responses, which always makes me wonder what the other folks on the newsletter list are thinking: all they have to do is write a sentence back and they’re entered to win a Kindle Fire! Maybe the newsletters are just going to their spam folders. Ah, well, so much the better for those of you who choose to enter these things!
And in this case, the winner is Bill McC (I’m not going to name full names, of course, to protect the innocent)!
Bill said his favorite book is Catch-22, which I remember reading way back when. He was about to read it again, and now he can do so on his new Kindle Fire.

I run contests on my own gaming site… and it’s surprisingly hard to get people to enter to win free stuff.. even when the only entry requirement is posting a comment that “I’m entered’…. forget all things that require any reasonable effort which will get you 2 or 3 responses.
I’m sad I missed it.
